01/18/2006 ISSS Exec Minutes

We had our second exec meeting of the semester on the 18th

First of all our exec meeting for this week we be at Clubfest. Meet at the booth in the Great Hall at 7:45pm our normal meeting time. Everyone is more than welcome to show up earlier if they want to.

An ultimate decision was made about dues they will be $10 per semesters. So be sure to pay Paul so you can continue to still be a member of ISSS.

Ben on Sat the 21st gave his talk at the general meeting of AAAA. Ben did a great presentation on the current projects of NASA like New Horizon the spacecraft launch this past week that is making it way to Pluto. He also put in some good words about ISSS and AAAA doing some joint projects in the future.

We're currently trying to get in contact with the Physics and Astronomy Dept. to encourage more Astro majors to join ISSS.

Everyone present agreed that ISSS should be involved in more volunteer and outreach programs to get our good name out there to the people of Ames.

Sometime this semester we must plan to do a Sun gazing on campus as soon as we finish the solar filters.

Our next General meeting will be Feb. 2nd 6pm in Hoover 1213
