I. Update from Director of Finances
- 501c-3 still in the beginning stages, Director is still trying to get in touch with tax guy
- state of Massachussetts hasn’t processed our Annual Reports or cashed or check
- Director needs to find out what supporting documents are necessary
II. Director of Special Projects reminds that deadlines for Zero-G proposals is next Friday
- out of 22 chapters, Director has in contact with eight
- three chapters are definitely proposing, everyone else we’ll see when we hit the deadine.
III. Director of External Affairs updates on Travel Fund
- meeting set for next week to discuss contacts for funding and start to nail down a procedure for how to ask for money and what to do when they respond, etc.
- suggestion to ask alumni first
IV. Director of Publications updates on the next newsletter
- has asked Chris Lewicky to do the Alumni Spotlight
- New Mexico spaceport first launch set for March 27th
- will be asking for exec board updates soon
- New Horizons launch tomorrow
- outline will be much like the first: exec updates, alumni spotlight, student spotlight, space calendar
V. Director of Educational Outreach explains plans for a SEDS textbook
- one more science based and one more history based
- ideas to have workshops at the SEDS Academies to write them
- suggestion to have a SEDS history one (apparently ISU did that and did a really awesome job of it
VI. Director of Expansion continues work on a contact list for all the major national universities
VII. Question: how does one get access to the listserv archives?
- The Chair will look into it
VIII. Webmaster makes a SEDS space calendar separate from spacecalendar.org at http://new.seds.org/calendar/phpicalendar-2.1/index.php
IX. Webmaster asks exec members to look at new.seds.org and make suggestions. Suggestions are made.
X. Vice Chair updates on conferences and those attending
- Caltech has about six interested in ISDC, AAS, Return to the Moon, and the Xcup
- Other than that, responses are slow and few in coming
