I. Director of Chapter Affairs will send out a survey on Friday
- asks opinions of how they think the space industry can be improved
II. Next Council of Chapters meeting is January 18, 8 pm EST
III. Director of Publications will start putting the next newsletter together in earnest in February
- There will be a “from the chair” column
- any other exec board member with a project of interest could write up something
- Vice Chair wants the events and conferences calendar included
- Director of Special Projects will write something up as well
IV. Director of Educational Outreach continues to work on a SEDS Textbook
- Few sessions of the SEDS Academy could help write it
- Debate over whether to focus on history or more theory-oriented
- Possibly two textbooks, one on history and one on theory
- Suggestion to have it be about the new emerging side of private industry in space
V. Director of Special Projects – we’re getting into crunch time for zero g
- Colorado, ERAU, Caltech, WPI, Purdue, MIT, and Elliot of our high school chapter, UWash have been contacted
- So far it is looking like 12+ from UWash, 4-5 MIT, And some from Colorado and Caltech SEDS
- deadline for secured payloads is January 20th
VI. Webmaster is finished with the new website and it is set to go up soon.
VII. Vice Chair is still pushing events and conferences, although he has few replies
- request for more events on the east coast
- response from AAS asking to keep their conference in mind
VIII. SEDS-UCF drives to Kansas to launch their 30K Daedalus rocket – Good luck! Bring back pictures and video!
IX. Fundraising committee meets afterwards.
