ISSS Meeting Minutes
October 17, 2000

Announcements:
We had 5 attendees (3 of which were exec) for the trip to the AAAA presentation on Saturday. Unfortunately, the Daily misprinted the material and nothing was going on.

Old Business:
Mission Statement: “To encourage interest in space and space activities through education, social, and outreach activities.”
Still need to think of a catchy phrase for the shirt. We postponed the date of the shirt deadline to November 8^th.
Dues:
Will need to ask Dana who to make the check out to.
We decided that the money paid in cash will go to ISSS activities and stuff such as food while everything paid via check will have to go to pay off the debt.
Kari also has said that she will need to make receipts for peoples dues

New Business:

The Leonoid shower will be occurring on November 17^th/18^th but given the fact that this is the weekend going into Thanksgiving Break, we will not be having an all ISSS event for it. People are welcome to watch them on their own time of course.

Future Meetings:

We will make an attempt to get related teachers to advertise the ISSS events to their students.

October 25^th:
We will be watching the 1^st series “From the Earth to the Moon”. All in all there are 12 different episodes. This is a series that was directed by Tom Hanks about the development of the United States Space Program, from Mercury through Apollo. This will occur at 7:00 in the SSOL lab. Exec will bring food. People can meet in the lobby of Howe Hall and we will walk you to the SSOL if you don’t know where it is.
Paying of dues
People with interest in planning future activities will meet afterwards to discuss possible future plans.
Natasha is in charge of reserving the room.

November 8^th:

Next official General Meeting
Will be the deadline for the $5 dues and T-shirt order
Plan to have a speaker to start off the meeting

November 29^th:

Last all member activity for the semester

Planetarium presentation

Hand out shirts

Planning of future events for 2^nd semester
