10/24/2005 ISSS Exec Minutes
From SEDSWiki
Written by Tabrina Sienkiewicz, ISSS Secretary.
We had our fifth executive meeting today at 6:00 in the Howe basement; here is what we talked about:
Aero 160 rocket launch: The launch was postponed, so we need to make sure the cross-country field is reserved for next Sunday. The sign boards need to be revised with the new date, but the add we put in the paper last Friday had the rain date on it, so we won't have to put out another one.
Tripoli: Having the 160 launch next Sunday complicates things for those going on the launch, so we're going to talk about departure times in our meeting after tomorrow's general meeting. We discussed the idea that AIAA members attending the launch have to pay our membership dues and unanomously voted to take five dollars from the ISSS funds to pay for gas etc. for members of ISSS. This way they will get some benefit for being members.
SpaceVision2005: Not much was said here other than confirming that it is set for November 11-13.
Tomorrow's meeting: Allen talked to the HABET speaker a couple of weeks ago and it sounded like he could come, but the speaker hasn't talked to him since, so we're not sure if he'll be there tomorrow or not. In the case that he isn't, Ben is going to give a presentation (on whatever he feels like).
Future meetings: We would like to get some speakers, so we might try talking to some professors or AAAA (Ames Area Amature Astronomers) people. It was also mentioned that we might each just pick something kind-of related to space and prepare a presentation on it for future general meetings; this way there is always something to do.
That's it for today's meeting, the next exec meeting is next Monday at 6:00 in the Howe basement (as usual).
