10/31/2005 ISSS Exec Minutes
From SEDSWiki
Written by Tabrina Sienkiewicz, ISSS Secretary.
We had our sixth executive meeting tonight at 6:00 in the Howe basement. Here is what we talked about:
Tripoli: The Tripoli trip went well, but next year we want to get funding for it from GSB and go all three days so we can see the expiramental launches. (and, perhaps, there could be better planning and more commitment on the parts of those who say they will go). The people that went will talk more about it in next Tuesday's meeting.
Aero 160 Launch: The Aero 160 launch went well also. Next year, though, it would be good to have some kind of sign-up sheet so that there aren't people racing to the pad.
Next Meeting: The next general meeting will be on Tuesday, November 8th at 7:00 in 1227 Hoover if we can get the room reserved an hour earlier. Kara will be doing a 15-minute presentation on her award-winning paper, and the Tripoli people will talk about the trip.
Spacevision2005: The conference is on November 11th - 13th and we still need to decide for sure where we are staying and how we're going to register, so there will be a meeting later this week for those who want to go. Scott will e-mail us with more information later, but so far the meeting is Thursday at 6:00.
End-of-semester Party: The end-of-semester party will be on November 6th. We need to pick out a movie to watch (no more Spaceballs!), and we're planning on getting pokey sticks that night. Elections will be heald during this meeting for next year.
Website: Our website needs to be updated. Our astronomy chair (Ben) isn't on there and the dues have gone up since it was updated last.
BEN CLEANED THE OFFICE!!! The door can actually open all of the way and the desks are visible! Yay!
That's all for today...the next exec meeting is next Monday at 6:00 in the Howe basement.
