- Debate on the Centennial Challenge
- At SpaceVision 2005 on Sunday, the idea of SEDS pursuing a Centennial Challenge was taken up. The people at this informal gathering were receptive to the idea.
- This was brought up again at the exec mtg.
- The director of projects and others felt that it was important to start small with tangible goals. The projects need to be feasible within a year.
- Others argued that we could complete short-term projects while pursuing/starting long-term ones as well.
- It was suggested that a member of the projects team look seriously into SEDS pursuing a Centennial Challenge – our capabilities, etc.
- The exec board was encouraged to use forums and email to finish the debate
VI. Matt Cruce, Director of Expansion, requests non-SEDS members’ email addresses
VII. Todd Romberger, Vice Chair, sends out a list of conferences and events that he wants to see SEDs members at this upcoming year.
- Liz adds March Storm to the list
VIII. Discussion of what “politically unaffiliated” means for SEDS
- Some people would like to see that changed so that SEDS can participate as a group in space lobbying
- Others thought this was not a good idea, especially as we’re trying to gain non-profit status
IX.An executive board revision of the Constitution is pending
