I. Director of Chapter Affairs Update

  • Council of Chapters Meeting on December 1st
    • Four chapters working on building and launching rockets
    • Other activities were space job fair, new elections, and a lecture-series forum
    • December goals
      • Get started with Yuri’s Night
      • Draft for a document of what people our age want to happen in the space industry and how we are going to contribute to making it happen
    • No contact from Iowa State as of yet, but two from IIT

II. Director of Finances continues working on 501©(3)

  • Needs certain documents from MIT and Arizona
  • Travel fun is less than 100 dollars right now, expected it after SpaceVision
    • Plans to set up a fundraising committee under Director of Internal Affairs
    • However, actual use of money under John’s jurisdiction
  • Keep financial address at Illinois since John is there and it’s a very active chapter
    • Start moving address to where director of finances is
    • Put mailing address on the webpage

III. National Projects

  • Officially starting the Zero G project
    • pressuring the zero g people for information on payload design requirements and firming up deadlines
    • Trying to get them to ease back on design deadline, hope to move it back to Feb. 1
    • discuss projects with chapter presidents over break
    • Zero G is in the process of moving offices right now, difficult to get in contact
  • Looking into Centennial Challenge soon as well

IV. SEDS calendar online

  • Spacecalendar.com is willing to work with SEDS
  • may eventually make a separate calendar, but it is best to use this one for now
  • may be able to link our own (pending) calendar’s events (ones that need to be publicized) to spacecalendar.com’s
  • Chapter reps are allowed to post and then Megha, Todd, and Ryan are the administrators for the calendar

V. Website Updates

  • New website being set up at new.seds.org
  • need to consolidate seds.org because its confusing and unaesthetic
  • Important links from the main pages
    • How to start and join a chapter

VI. New Chapters

  • Brand New: Iowa State, Montclair State University, University of Texas – Austin, St. Louis University, IIT, University of North Dakota
  • Director of Expansion drafting an email to be sent to every technical school

VII. Vice Chair getting the word out about various conferences and recruiting people to go

  • Main focus is ISDC, X cup

VIII. Director of Internal Affairs intends to set up a travel fund and fundraising committee over break to help people get to conferences (especially SEDS conference)
