I. Director of Publications expresses concerns that she will not be able to fulfill her SEDS duties

  • She lays out her options in a letter to the Chair
    • Can nominally remain a member of UA SEDS without attending meetings but keeping up with Director of Publications duties
    • Publish the March newsletter as planned
    • Resign board position immediately
  • Exec board agrees that position should not remain unfilled and that Publications has done excellent job with previous newsletter. Therefore, Publications will not be required to attend executive board meetings as long as the Publications go as planned.

II. Chair’s proposal to move SEDS-exec meetings to Tuesday accepted

III.Update from Director of Finances

  • Received finance stuff from MIT but $4800 gap between 2002 and 2004 which Director is still looking up
  • Mass. still hasn’t processed the Annual Reports but nagging is commencing
  • St. Louis U has unpaid dues
  • Put a paypal link on the donation page
  • If we’re looking for individual donors, Director has a list from recent years

IV. Chair and Secretary suggest that Exec Board members send monthly updates to the Exec listserv

  • This will give a permanent record and coherent summary of updates
  • Director of Educational Outreach has a template for weekly updates she can send to the listserv
  • Exec board members agree that this is doable
  • To be sent the Sunday after each month’s end

V. The website has been successfully updated

VI. Update from Director of External Affairs on the state of the Travel Fund

  • A list of possible corporate sponsors has been added to the Wiki
  • A template letter to corporations asking for money has been added to the wiki

VII. Update from Director of Expansion

  • Illinois Institute of Technology is planning to join
  • intend to add a new chapter award to SpaceVision 2006 conference

VIII. Update from Director of Special Projects

  • All SEDS chapters who applied before the deadline are accepted for the Zero-G flight, this announcement will be sent out tonight
  • However there are 29 flyers and only 25 SEDS seats so some pruning will have to occur
  • SEDS-ERAU is on standby status if something opens up because their application was late
  • all chapters are encouraged to fundraise

IX. Director of Chapter Affairs has received 14 responses to the proposal

  • only one was from an exec board member, more responses encouraged
  • Response deadline is next week

X. Director of Educational outreach sets up “Outreach Activities Suggestions” on the wiki
