Jedi8798 (8:11:58 PM): main thing Darrell, Ryan, and myself saw for this was conferences, but since I heard that various project and NASA groups are considering it for their meetings thought to give it a try Jedi8798 (8:12:16 PM): you can set up things like live video and audio feeds, powerpoint presentations, etc.. all in the realm lizeeb3 (8:12:16 PM): ok joc 75 (8:12:21 PM): Second life currently provides video and powerpoint joc 75 (8:12:32 PM): currently in beta includes voice chat Jedi8798 (8:12:38 PM): not to mention we can get a display section to set up a whole lot of information about SEDS lizeeb3 (8:13:11 PM): ok lizeeb3 (8:13:34 PM): Well, to develop our presence further, what do you propose we do next? lizeeb3 (8:13:39 PM): Hold a meeting on SL? lizeeb3 (8:14:04 PM): (you are our resident expert at this point) Jedi8798 (8:14:18 PM): might be the best thing, to see if people think it is a good idea Jedi8798 (8:14:28 PM): I can send some screenshots from a meeting earlier today of the NASA CoLab people joc 75 (8:14:32 PM): if we prove that we can effectively use the technology to the community of Second Life they will offer more resources joc 75 (8:14:48 PM): if the technology is not effective...then there is no purpose in us trying to develop more resources there Jedi8798 (8:14:52 PM): And with the Board's permission, I want to apply for a display space for SEDS Jedi8798 (8:15:19 PM): to set up information and displays about our organization, and I believe Darrell and I were talking about setting up a fully virtual SEDS chapter Jedi8798 (8:15:24 PM): with its own virtual projects, etc.. lizeeb3 (8:16:11 PM): alright joc 75 (8:16:36 PM): I just spent the last hour touring the solar system in Second Life...the technology is really nice lizeeb3 (8:16:37 PM): well, i think we should set up some sort of meeting next week then lizeeb3 (8:16:42 PM): haha nice joc 75 (8:16:56 PM): rather...a large diaroma erected over the rocket garden Jedi8798 (8:16:57 PM): display space, project space, etc.. at NASA Colab are free Jedi8798 (8:17:17 PM): and the people I've talked to are excited to get us in there lizeeb3 (8:17:45 PM): Yeah it sounds really cool and it would be good if SEDS had a presence there joc 75 (8:17:58 PM): Josh and I are currently sitting at a table with the SEDS logo displayed across it and a powerpoint displaying on the wall across from us lizeeb3 (8:18:24 PM): Josh, can you set up a meeting for us on SL next week? Jedi8798 (8:23:18 PM): On to Liz? lizeeb3 (8:23:36 PM): Cool lizeeb3 (8:23:55 PM): Next, Ryan was going to discuss some changes for the website... rmmlg08 (8:24:21 PM): so, you guys saw the email I sent out a while ago to alumni rmmlg08 (8:24:44 PM): a number of suggestions have been implemented rmmlg08 (8:25:03 PM): one though, is quite out of my range of ability rmmlg08 (8:25:07 PM): color selection rmmlg08 (8:25:30 PM): apparently the current colors were made as placeholders rmmlg08 (8:25:52 PM): I kind of liked them (becuase I tend to like drab colors...fits my personality), so kept them rmmlg08 (8:26:07 PM): suggestions as to more catchy colors are welcome rmmlg08 (8:26:22 PM): or more inviting or whatever color scheme for the site RolandBolser (8:26:52 PM): why do we need new colors? why not just keep them as a base and add more graphics? rmmlg08 (8:27:13 PM): I suppose that's another option lizeeb3 (8:28:24 PM): Yeah, I think the blue/gray/black theme represents space pretty well lizeeb3 (8:28:37 PM): what colors do you guys like? lizeeb3 (8:28:42 PM): opinions please! BZWingZero (8:29:21 PM): blue/grey/black sounds good.
