[18:11] Ryanblah Qinan: that's what I thought
[18:11] RolandBolser Voom: did that really delay things?
[18:12] Ryanblah Qinan: is there a background to this
[18:12] RolandBolser Voom: yeah
[18:12] You: Well I heard he asked some sort of controversial question
[18:12] RolandBolser Voom: he asked the people in China about if they would share access to H3 and if they were pursuing it
[18:13] RolandBolser Voom: and China is....China
[18:13] Darrell Abel: yeah..but did they react?
[18:13] Darrell Abel: I thought they were kinda cool about it
[18:13] Ryanblah Qinan: who is "people in china"
[18:14] RolandBolser Voom: thye were fine with it
[18:14] RolandBolser Voom: his note just said that he thought he almost started an international incident
[18:14] RolandBolser Voom: people in china is the director or similar position guy in the Chinese equivalent of NASA
[18:14] You: ok
[18:14] Ryanblah Qinan: k
[18:15] You: So it was clearly a misunderstanding
[18:16] You: There were no other objections to giving Ben the scholarhsip
[18:16] You: Ryan, were you in contact with him? Do you want to email him?
[18:16] Ryanblah Qinan: other than the meeting last week, I wasn't, but I can email him

[18:21] Ryanblah Qinan: I've sent off the seds/aas mailings to jim kirkpatrick
[18:21] Ryanblah Qinan: so those will hit their lists soon
[18:21] Ryanblah Qinan: and I've sent off the endowment fund info to peter for review
[18:21] You: cool

[18:25] Ryanblah Qinan: haven't gotten much to hit yet
[18:25] Ryanblah Qinan: presumably since there are no deadlines approaching
[18:25] Ryanblah Qinan: (according to kirk's theory of registration at least)
[18:25] You: haha
[18:25] You: understandable
[18:25] You: Other updates?
[18:26] Ryanblah Qinan: I think we asked this before

[18:27] You: Yeah, we want more people to attend sv07 this year
