to get your opinions on the new template for seds.org

created a template for the new site at http://www.new.seds.org/sys/

what you've been working on with it?

(21 08 06) *Joshua Sosa:* well, everything's been rewritten
(21 08 14) *James Welch:* needs more objects/pictures
(21 08 22) *Joshua Sosa:* the template itself is an inversion of
earth.seds.org

seds.org, but something I think reflects better of what seds is

the current one

(21 11 55) *Me:* it needs a little more on the main page that states
what seds is

(21 12 14) *Joshua Sosa:* there's a lot of little things that goes into
this setup now, the navigation bar content can be changed in the admin panel
(21 12 19) *Joshua Sosa:* front page content is a blog with comments and
archives and whatnot, logging works based on a db only without being
restricted by actual sessions
(21 12 19) *Brian Young:* the logo in the middle of the picture looks
unprofessional, id make the background transparent or give it a good border
(21 12 23) *Brian Young:* oh wait, im on IE
(21 12 25) *Brian Young:* thats why
(21 13 00) *Joshua Sosa:* the header images were kept by suggestion, the
logo on each image can be changed by editing its position (which is
associated per image)
(21 13 02) *Brian Zollman:* Same thing happens in Firefox
(21 13 19) *Joshua Sosa:* so, the logo can be placed anywhere +shrugs+
(21 13 43) *Brian Young:* look at that transparency... not sure quite
what the issue
(21 14 51) *Joshua Sosa:* i'm not the best at graphics, even
transparency, so if someone wants to make the logo more transparent feel
free to send a new image
(21 14 55) *Joshua Vincent Nelson:* I think its related to the higher
rez of the logo relative to everything else

out with that?
(21 15 22) *Me:* there walso seems to be an outline of black around it

transparent.. i dont know enough about html to know what the deal is though

link is just the UA Facebook group. There's a national / Global one

'final' version will be ready to put up on seds.org?

some things, including importing internships, making a sendmail page,
and a members page for self profile editing and a memberlist

(21 21 10) *Me:* well, due the imcompatibility between versions, they
should be changed before the new page is launched

previous page to the new format?

(21 21 57) *Joshua Sosa:* ive done that for all top-level pages
excluding some custom scripts

be changed

tonight was to go through the officers and get a quick update on their
progress so far. We've had a month since the National Conference, and it
would be good to find out whats been going on so far.

conference mostly rather than exec stuff, so will get back to exec stuff

highschools involved with SEDS, and I have also looked over Brad
Cheetham's proposal for intergrating SEDS
(21 31 49) *KellyMann10:* and space realted concepts into classes, and i
will talk to brad and HaoQi sometime this week about it. I also am going
to email the old highschool chapters this week,
(21 31 54) *KellyMann10:* and get my schedual fix and up. I have the
schedual ready, but im having some trouble with google docs.

do much for SEDS until winter break starts next weekend

organizations, to ask if they're interested in joining SEDS, esp.
chapters that dropped out last year

(21 34 08) *HaoQi:* and someone told me to concentrate on the schools
around Texas
(21 34 11) *HaoQi:* so I'll look into that too

helping to contribute to the outreach wiki

month, and trying to get chapters working on it some more

make it easier for chapters to share ideas on outreach
(21 36 49) *Brian Young:* by putting stuff on the wiki (wiki.seds.org)
(21 37 06) *Brian Young:* so that if you have a new event coming up
theres a good database online of whats been done and what worked well

to actually get stuff done. My goal for this break is to take the
chapter starter kit and create a print version that can be sent out to
schools in a paper or easily printable form.

conjunction with HaoQi?

revise that packet)

presentable and she will be working on the actual content.
