[18:17] Eleven Vella: to join their group?
[18:18] danderson Beck: Not sure what to make of it
[18:18] danderson Beck: yeah
[18:18] Eleven Vella: interesting
[18:18] danderson Beck: really seems more geared to space companies in california
[18:18] Eleven Vella: did it have any relation to SEDS?
[18:19] danderson Beck: pro space stuff
[18:19] Darrell Abel: haven't we already been talking to them?
[18:19] Eleven Vella: But I mean, did someone ask for correspondence or was it an advertisement?
[18:19] Cabernet Sauvignon : Mmm..
[18:20] danderson Beck: it came because I emailed the webmaster of space alliance
[18:20] Gerard Salyut: No that was the Space Exploration Alliance Darrell
[18:20] Gerard Salyut: SEA
[18:20] Cabernet Sauvignon : That was simply luscious, Gerard Salyut!
[18:20] danderson Beck: that email was forwarded to CSA people
[18:20] Gerard Salyut: ah
[18:20] Eleven Vella: Ok
[18:20] danderson Beck: Greetings Daniel, Jamie Foster forwarded me your request to be put on our mailing list. I took a look at your web site and saw that we have similar goals. I'd like to send you a membership package which would include information on our California Space Education & Workforce Institute along with our plans for a space center here on the central coast. Please provide me with your mailing address and I'll get it right out to you. In the meantime, I'll input your e-mail address into our systems to ensure that you receive our SpotBeam electronic newsletters and other notices. Thank you for your interest and I look forward to talking with you soon. Best Regards, Elizabeth
[18:21] Eleven Vella: Well, if you want to do it and it sounds interestiung i dont see the harm in joining a mailing list
[18:21] Eleven Vella: except spam
[18:21] danderson Beck: yeah
[18:22] Gerard Salyut: never knew there were health hazards involved in your position did you?
[18:23] danderson Beck: I'm not to hot on the idea of joining th CSA though, mainly because I have to pay
[18:23] Eleven Vella: Oh
[18:23] Eleven Vella: Yeah, I mean I dont see the point for a studdnt to join
[18:23] danderson Beck: the mailing list is free though
[18:23] danderson Beck: There is a student membership, doesn't do much for 50 bucks though
[18:24] Gerard Salyut: yeah
[18:24] Eleven Vella: Ok
[18:24] Gerard Salyut: it is better for us to not join, but just keep a look out for good opportunities
[18:24] Gerard Salyut: wasnt Buzz contacting us a while back about getting SEDS involvement in Califormia space politics?
[18:24] danderson Beck: buzz?
[18:24] Eleven Vella: It was his ShareSpace program
[18:24] Ryanblah Qinan: yeah
[18:24] Darrell Abel: hmm...that's what I was referring to
[18:25] BTYoung Yifu: i thought that wasa n outreach-0oriented thing
[18:25] Ryanblah Qinan: not sure where theat ever got to
[18:25] danderson Beck: oh hey
[18:25] Ryanblah Qinan: ...should follow up
[18:25] Eleven Vella: Didnt we refer him to Caltech SEDS?
[18:25] danderson Beck: when did we become a member of the space exploration alliance?
[18:25] Gerard Salyut: ummm....
[18:25] Gerard Salyut: last meeting?
[18:25] Darrell Abel: who do we know who's active over in Caltech SEDS?
[18:26] danderson Beck: fair enough
[18:26] Gerard Salyut: You volunteered to be our contact
[18:26] danderson Beck: yeah
[18:26] Gerard Salyut: since you're external affairs
[18:26] Ryanblah Qinan: I referred him to caltech and to rohan
[18:27] Eleven Vella: Alright\just to clarify - that doesnt have anything to do with CSA
[18:27] danderson Beck: no it doesn't
[18:27] Eleven Vella: ok
[18:27] danderson Beck: aside from the webmaster of SEA's website is somehow important for CSA
[18:27] Gerard Salyut: SEA, CSA, and ShareSpace are all different organizations
[18:27] danderson Beck: yeah
[18:29] Eleven Vella: So any other comments on the CSA issue
[18:30] Eleven Vella: If not, how is that keg rocket idea working out?
[18:30] Gerard Salyut: No response from White Sands yet on if we can do it at the missile range
[18:30] Gerard Salyut: though I'll also ask a few other places out here
[18:30] Gerard Salyut: and does anyone have a good contact at Shiner or Heineken?
[18:30] Eleven Vella: ok
[18:31] BTYoung Yifu: no, but shiners pretty small and friendly seeming, so just looking for a contact online would do the trick
[18:31] BTYoung Yifu: i think less than 100 employees, if i remember correctly
[18:31] MarsSettlement Planer: hi folks
[18:31] MarsSettlement Planer: is this a closed meeting?
[18:31] Gerard Salyut: ((Its open for visitors))
[18:31] Eleven Vella: No,
[18:32] Gerard Salyut: ((long as you're not disruptive))
[18:32] Gerard Salyut: (( ;-) ))
[18:32] MarsSettlement Planer: thanks
[18:32] Eleven Vella: How about the conference, any news on that front?
[18:33] Ryanblah Qinan: sv?
[18:33] Ryanblah Qinan: or newspace?

[18:33] Eleven Vella: (sorry - yes to Brain)
[18:33] Gerard Salyut: Brian, if you really want to.
[18:33] Eleven Vella: and yes, in regards to sv
[18:33] Gerard Salyut: Keep me in the loop how its going though
[18:34] BTYoung Yifu: for sv, id just like to remind everyone that boston is a lot more expensive than champange or orlando, so you might want to get started getting tickets and hotels soon
[18:34] BTYoung Yifu: alright, i will
[18:34] Eleven Vella: good point
[18:34] Ryanblah Qinan: well, nothing terribly exciting has happened recently
[18:34] Ryanblah Qinan: we will soon have a speaker schedule up
[18:34] Darrell Abel: yeah...Brian's on campus so we were searching for hotels
[18:34] Ryanblah Qinan: and we're trying to find some cheaper lodging for students
[18:35] BTYoung Yifu: the hyatt, so you know, is not the way to go
[18:35] Ryanblah Qinan: ie other than the current official conference hotel listed on the wite
[18:35] Darrell Abel: and we found some for about 80 dollars
[18:35] Eleven Vella: wow thats nice
[18:35] Darrell Abel: but it's a special deal...so people need to buy soon
[18:35] Darrell Abel: rather...I don't know how long it will last
[18:35] Ryanblah Qinan: in general, can't hurt to buy tickets for things a few months in advance
[18:35] Eleven Vella: perhaps you could send out an email
[18:36] Ryanblah Qinan: yeah, is getting about that time
[18:36] Ryanblah Qinan: we have a meeting tomorrow
[18:36] Ryanblah Qinan: so will discuss somethings thing get an email out
[18:36] Eleven Vella: cool

[18:39] Gerard Salyut: the SEDS/NSS scholarship to ISU (not at the conference)
[18:39] Gerard Salyut: and the board doesnt have direct control over that one
