since we talked to him last year

read the proposed Expansion Kit?

[18:11] DarrellDCain: last year though he was flying
in for only a couple hours
[18:11] DarrellDCain: I've done a brief look through
[18:12] DarrellDCain: there's a couple word choices I
don't agree with
[18:12] DarrellDCain: but I haven't compiled a list

SEDS-Earth Council will be meeting on monday to
discuss the direction of SEDS Earth and organizational
structure

[18:26] DarrellDCain: 2 active chapters without reps
(ERFSEDS and Michigan)
[18:27] DarrellDCain: 4 chapters that have finished
registration and I hope to have chapter reps by start
of next school year
[18:27] DarrellDCain: (starting the conversation with
them now)
[18:27] DarrellDCain: 4 chapters that are in the
process of registration
[18:27] DarrellDCain: and then 3 high school chapters
[18:27] DarrellDCain: bringing us up to 29 chapters
[18:28] Jedi8798: Are the high school chapters
completely active?
[18:28] DarrellDCain: help with Michigan would be
appreciated if anyone knows anyone there
[18:28] DarrellDCain: not completely sure
[18:28] DarrellDCain: I was hoping kelly would keep
things moving there
[18:28] DarrellDCain: they are all active as since the
last conference
[18:29] DarrellDCain: as in we've had communication
with them at least once

[18:30] DarrellDCain: within the high school chapters?
[18:30] DarrellDCain: I have a contact for each
[18:30] DarrellDCain: gotten from Kelly
[18:30] Jedi8798: so they dont have an official rep on
the Council of Chapters?
[18:30] DarrellDCain: I haven't run them through the
same procedures I run all the other chapter reps
through
[18:30] DarrellDCain: no..they don't
[18:31] Jedi8798: ok might want to poke them about it.
Having then involved nationally might encourage
chapter creation when they go to college
[18:31] DarrellDCain: very true
[18:31] Jedi8798: Anything further on the chapter
count, or things you need from us on this matter?
[18:32] DarrellDCain: just possibly help with Michigan

[18:32] DarrellDCain: if things continue with ERFSEDS
we're going to have to find legal basis for making
them change their name

updated to reflect the chapters you just gave us?

interesting issue
[18:32] Jedi8798: they call themselves SEDS
[18:32] Jedi8798: but have a different accronym

[18:33] Jedi8798: do we have a contact number for
their advisor?
[18:33] DarrellDCain: but they go by ERFSEDS
[18:33] DarrellDCain: yrah
[18:33] DarrellDCain: I'm not going to pursue this
route until I've tried with a new officer board
[18:34] DarrellDCain: as in..their officers have to
rotate at some point
[18:34] nyeerrmm: do we know why they dont want to be
involved with us?
[18:34] DarrellDCain: only source I have on this is
from UCF chapter rep
[18:35] DarrellDCain: that they feel more professional
than us
[18:35] DarrellDCain: but that is from UCF
[18:35] Jedi8798: In the past Embry Riddle has always
been a bit snobby towards national
[18:35] Jedi8798: Megha had to practically drag them
to the UCF conference
[18:35] DarrellDCain: I know
[18:35] Jedi8798: Ok, let me know what you find out

cast-out judgement until they say it to my face
[18:36] Jedi8798: their Space Grant advisor is in
contact with me right now

subtlety

really well with the active ones
[18:37] DarrellDCain: I get constant communication
from about half

[18:37] DarrellDCain: and full attendance at CoC
[18:38] DarrellDCain: there's a couple chapters I'm
concerned about
[18:38] DarrellDCain: but even those I'm having a
dialogue with

[18:38] Jedi8798: other business.... ISDC and SFF
booths
[18:39] Jedi8798: Have the people working on these two
conferences put any thought into our booth/displays
there?
[18:40] DarrellDCain: nope
[18:40] DarrellDCain: but I can request space when I
send a member list to Will
[18:40] Jedi8798: I'm still only a maybe on that
[18:40] DarrellDCain: alright
[18:40] Jedi8798: but lets make sure we actually have
people going SFF before we make that request
[18:40] Jedi8798: or make the request
[18:40] Jedi8798: and we can give it to UCF
[18:40] DarrellDCain: yrah

[18:40] Jedi8798: if there isnt much National presence
[18:41] RolandBolser: Yuri's Night wants to set up a
"lounge" next to us to get the youngsters

thought

[18:43] DarrellDCain: it's UCF plus a couple board
members

[18:45] Jedi8798: I'm a little bummed that the
Spaceport hasnt responded to my emails
[18:45] Jedi8798: since my initial proposal and their
request for more informaiton
[18:45] Jedi8798: information*
[18:45] Jedi8798: and now I've found their hosting a
educational competition/event of their own
[18:45] Jedi8798: so we might be looking for another
site

to update on the Summer Project

all of which are in for the Summer Project

chapters

pressuring them for lists
