(09:05:19 PM) Ryan McLinko: and it worked out pretty well for isdc, so I'm figuring we'll probably just ad hoc it again

(09:14:57 PM) Brian Young: Pete Worden probably wont be able to, at least until January, since hes a political appointee or government employee... not sure which one is the issue

(09:15:18 PM) Ryan McLinko: yeah, I wasn't sure about him
(09:15:21 PM) Brian Young: at least thats the advice gedmark gave me

(09:15:32 PM) Brian Young: but of course, who knows what his job will be in january

(09:16:45 PM) Brian Young: not sure if diversity is important, but getting a woman or two may be a good idea

(09:19:15 PM) Darrell Cain: 1. we want people who will spend the time to meet at least in person once a year
(09:19:16 PM) Brian Young: none in particular, just a thought that occured to me
(09:19:20 PM) Darrell Cain: and by phone occasionally
(09:19:36 PM) Darrell Cain: 2. we want big names, but we're not going to get big names until we have the money
(09:20:01 PM) Darrell Cain: 3. we're not going to get the "big names" to take this seriously unless there's a very organized structure to it
(09:20:19 PM) Darrell Cain: 4. building an organized structure is going to be hard once you move over about 8 people

(09:36:10 PM) Brian Young: sorry about that, ryan goodnight wanted to let us know that by the time we get the paperwork back from the state of texas, we need to have the responsibilities of the board consisting of josh, ryan, and darrell in the bylaws

(09:36:48 PM) Brian Young: they recommended it be called the board of trustees, but obviously that will cause us some issues so i think its negotiable

(09:37:21 PM) Brian Young: nothing as far as texas is concerned, the paperwork is already going through there

(09:41:44 PM) Brian Young: also, SFF has requested to present the award for their web-video competition, so they will be doing that, and also \they are wanting to officially sponsor a networking event

(09:42:45 PM) Brian Young: as far as speakers, we're mostly looking at the usual suspects right now, although just today i learned that we'll probably be getting the guy in charge of mars at JPL to come out
