Volp situation we discussed
[18:11] Jedi8798: after an hour long phone call
[18:12] Jedi8798: I suggested to him that he either
make his internship an independent internship that
would provide advice to SEDS
[18:12] Jedi8798: or partner with SEDS Spain so they
would oversee it
[18:12] Jedi8798: Therefore SEDS would at least have
some oversight into the matter
[18:12] Jedi8798: what do you guys think?
[18:12] rmmlg08: seems reasonable
[18:13] rmmlg08: did you and darrell talk about his
idea
[18:13] hydrogenlithium: yeah.
[18:13] hydrogenlithium: when is he going to make the
decision?
[18:13] KellyMann10: yeah, did Jim give you his
opinion?
[18:13] Jedi8798: Jim said that either of my options
were acceptable
[18:13] Jedi8798: Darrell mentioned the idea of us
overseeing it via SL or him going in person
[18:13] Jedi8798: are either of those what you mean

[18:14] rmmlg08: as much as I hate SL, it seems like a
reasonable option

overseen by SEDS Spain

[18:15] Jedi8798: the head of SEDS Spain
[18:15] Jedi8798: has his head on straight
[18:15] Jedi8798: SEDS spain is 1-2 chapters last I
talked to him
[18:15] Jedi8798: but at least it wont be directly
affiliated with SEDS USA
[18:15] Jedi8798: so we're not liable per say
[18:15] rmmlg08: ok, so they could potentially
actually oversee it

[18:16] Jedi8798: and since Jim is in Spain
[18:16] rmmlg08: in that case, that's probably the
best option
[18:16] Jedi8798: I did mention we would provide him
with any information we would have time to
[18:16] Jedi8798: like the current status of SEDS USA

time, feel free to let him know what you're up to

been confirmed as our private session speakers

decided as it depends on their schedules

supposed to tell us at this meeting...

events on Thursday
[18:21] hydrogenlithium: I live 30 minutes away
[18:21] DarrellDCain: we'll also be arranging a ton of
random SEDS events throughout the conference
[18:22] hydrogenlithium: but those won't take up the
entire day, will it?
[18:22] hydrogenlithium: I"ll volunteer whenever I"m
not doing SEDS stuff
[18:23] Jedi8798: they wont likely take up the entire
day.
[18:23] Jedi8798: we'll have announcements beforehand
about when they will be
[18:23] Jedi8798: oh FYI, Sunday we're going to take
an unofficial SEDS trip to the Air and Space Museum
[18:23] hydrogenlithium: announcements by email or at
the conference?
[18:23] Jedi8798: so far UASEDS and UCF are in
[18:23] hydrogenlithium: yay!

[18:24] Jedi8798: we'll be doing it in the morning ish
until early afternoon
[18:24] DarrellDCain: well...we didn't plan plane
tickets to be there on Sunday
[18:24] Jedi8798: because UCF flies out mid-afternoon
[18:24] Jedi8798: yeah but unfortunetly Thursday,
Friday, Saturday are filled with conference stuff
[18:24] KellyMann10: I can contribute myself and one
other from Keene

to let people stay for split cost

im still looking for a place to stay

[18:29] Jedi8798: Loretta has informed me we still
have money in her account from the SEDS travel fund
[18:29] Jedi8798: While its late to use it for ISDC,
we should consider using it to help send people to
SEDS IC or Space Vision
[18:29] Jedi8798: According to Loretta there was 437
there last she checked
[18:30] Jedi8798: So just an FYI that we have that
available

thing

[18:31] Jedi8798: but we have to figure out selection
process, etc...

the Resume Database?
[18:32] rmmlg08: I had issues with the resume upload
[18:32] rmmlg08: but ohter than that, looked pretty
good

initial glance

weekend when I'm avoiding studying for finals rather
than cramming final projects

fill out the rest fo the forms

upload

of announcements about SEDS events at ISDC

officer meeting at some point

for observers
[18:41] DarrellDCain: but SEDS members will have
priority seating

Burt Rutan Dinner?
[18:42] Jedi8798: If not, we can have live officer
meeting during that time, 7:30 on Friday

about the dinner?
[18:42] rmmlg08: pay an exhorbitant sum for dinner

to hear Burt Rutan give his usual speech

the table are fun to talk to

money

[18:44] DarrellDCain: typically 60 or more per ticket

speach yet...is it worth hearing?

so if it is too empty I could bring that

from brian

designs, or whats finished from them

from a kit

organizational details like room reservations and
getting hotel group rates and those kind of things

sponsors
[18:51] Jedi8798: how is funding/speakers going?
[18:51] nyeerrmm: sorry, trying to pack my car
[18:52] nyeerrmm: funding is my weakness right now, i
need to get on calling people who havent responded to
emails
[18:52] DarrellDCain: on that point...while it's a
long shot
[18:52] rmmlg08: if you're having trouble with my
contacts from last year
[18:52] rmmlg08: I can try to help you out
[18:52] DarrellDCain: should people be on the lookout
for funding possibilities during ISDC?
[18:52] Jedi8798: Yeah dont be afraid of asking for
assistance

[18:52] Jedi8798: actually that reminds me
[18:53] Jedi8798: I will be printing fundraising
packets for the Rocket Competition
[18:53] Jedi8798: Ryan could you do some sort of
packet for the Endowment?

[18:53] Jedi8798: I've included the Endowment, Rocket,
Conference, and Zero G flights on the poster
[18:53] DarrellDCain: kinda of a "what can you donate
towards" approach for the SEDS table
[18:53] Jedi8798: but if someone is interested
[18:53] Jedi8798: we need to have that information
ready
[18:53] rmmlg08: heh
[18:53] nyeerrmm: yeah... really i just need to get
calling people, although i'll let you know
