Progress Updates

  • Rick Hanton, Chapter Expansion
    • I have been working on covering the US from West to East looking for engineering/science universities that could be solicited by SEDS in a search for more members to reach out to. Currently my searching is up from Texas through North Dakota and **I have about 26 contacts that we could send materials to so far. Some of them, especially in California look very promising (rocketry groups and the like).
    • I have also been looking at the costs of sending print copies to these locations. While quite expensive, it could probably be done. Printing black and white is cheap, but anything color is about 10x more expensive, so we could do tricky things like rearranging the expansion packet slightly so that we have fewer color pages or only printing a few selective pages in color. Still, I'm looking at $100+ in cost with just black and white (estimated).
    • I will be interested to see how well sending out physical packets will work.
  • Basant Sagar, Director of National Projects
    • Send fresh emails to sponsors - personal contacts
    • HAL5 ready to sponsor, going through the various sponsorship options provided by me.
    • AeroPac will take care of logistics. Phone call next week to formally negotiate partnership terms.
