SEDS-USA Executive Board Meeting, August 24, 2009

  • Absent: Justin Graves, Matt Cannella, Keri Hancock, Grant Atkinson



Minutes

  • Mtg with Jacobs Technology:
    • Discussed involvement in SpaceVision09, their desire to promote the company and plans to bring CareerBuilder personnel.
    • Like to sponsor a lunch at the conference
    • Want to assist in starting chapters near where they are based such as Houston, U of Tennessee and UAB Huntsville.
    • Asked about SEDS national projects, they are aware of our need for funding there as well.
  • Alumni Association
    • Darrell sent out an overview for the planned group. Please read it and for a discussion next week.
  • ISS Competition
    • Basic requirements for the project established, sent in an e-mail. Project due Oct 15th, announcement at SpaceVision.
    • Age level: K-12, with a winner in each main category (elementary, middle and high school).
  • Rockon
    • Finalized BlackRock as the contest location for Aug2010.
    • Aeropac is happy to to help with the regulatory approvals and logistics.
    • There are specific motor requirements linked to whether or not we will fall under the proper insurance from either Aeropac or Tripoli
