SEDS-USA Executive Board Meeting, August 24, 2009

Meeting Minutes

• ISS Competition
  • Sent out draft of the rules
  • Competition needs to have a fixed set of prizes, needs to be available to an international recipient.
  • Doesn’t seem like competition is ready for a public release, it will be determined over the next week in a separate meeting if this should move forward.
• Alumni Association
  • Association definition not yet clear, in particular who is responsible for operations: alumni or SEDS exec?
  • Concern over longevity of association with exec member turnover.
  • Association goals are to track alumni and maintain contact with past members.
  • Further detailed document sent out by Darrell.
• Rockon
  • A series of safety related conditions applied to teams, -all have accepted
  • Teams sending progress reports
  • Teams may still join until Dec ‘09
• SEDS Store (Rick)
  • Worked on an online store to purchase SEDS Shirts etc
  • Board voted in favor of placing the online store onto seds.org

Progress Reports

• Keri Hancock, High School Affairs
  • Coordinated with Keri Bean on ISS competition. Reviewed and edited flier. Discussed prizes and possible judges.
• Keri Bean, Educational Outreach
  • This week I talked with Keri H about the ISS model competition stuff and we've come up with a draft, which was sent out to the exec board for review tonight.
