SEDS-USA Executive Board Meeting, January 5, 2009

Time: 8:30pm EST
Location: AOL Instant Messenger
Attendance: Joshua Nelson, Ryan McLinko, Rick Hanton, Grant Atkinson, Joshua Sosa, Basant Sagar, Keri Hancock.

  • Absent: Keri Bean, Zeke Silva, Justin Graves, Matt Cannella.



Action Items

  • Ryan will look into SEDS member interest for the proposed SEDS shuttle launch conference.
  • Zeke should look at the links part of the website. Some are old and dead.
  • All executive board members please look through http://topratings.wordpress.com/2007/08/31/top-100-americas-best-colleges-2008/ and see if you know any space-interested people at the various colleges that might possibly think of starting a SEDS chapter

Meeting Minutes

  • IYA 2009 and SEDS
    • Item omitted due to absence of key executive board members
  • SEDS Shuttle Launch trip
    • Ryan is still working on getting a behind the scenes tour during the purposed SEDS conference to watch the F9 launch
    • Ryan Kolbrick has been encouraging the idea of a planned SEDS shuttle launch trip
    • Executive board members also proposed the idea of "dinner with an astronaut," chapter starting incentive as in "start a SEDS chapter and you can attend this event," "group discount," "SEDS launch beach party"
  • Meeting day and time for 2009
    • SEDS Executive board members resolved that the current SEDS executive board meeting time and day will stay the same
