SEDS-USA Executive Board Meeting, July 20, 2009

Meeting Minutes

• Everyone but the most devoted SEDS board members are celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Apollo 11 landing.
• Discussion of SEDS-USA Constitution and Bylaws
  • Changes needed to mid-term elections.
  • Need addition of "Secretary" position (see previous meeting minutes).
  • Midterm elections section should state that if desired, the president may appoint a temporary person to fill the vacant position. That position will then go through the election process and the new chair will be voted in. The temporary chair may be one of the candidates vying for the position.
  • Middle paragraph in educational outreach chair should be cut (too specific).
  • Should add a periodic report (suggested 2 times/year minimum) to the Project Chair's job.
  • Maybe should cut periodic polling of chapters for suggestions from Chapter Affairs' job (will ask about at CoC with chapters).
  • Director of High School affairs should be allowed to be a non-high school student.
• A vote on whether to allow Finance to open a new bank account as a non-profit will be held till next meeting.

  • Worked more with student at Boise State on a chapter there.
