Progress Reports
Grant Atkinson (Chap Affairs): This week saw the conclusion of the SEDS midterm secretary election, with Bruce Davis accepting the position. I emailed an announcement to the SEDS-chapters listserv regarding the election, as well as a reminder about the upcoming CoC meeting, which will feature a SpaceVision update, (hopefully) a presentation from the Regional Committee convened at the last meeting, and a discussion of the biannual chapter interaction survey mentioned in the constitution.
Keri Bean (Education):
I didn't get to do much, but I did meet with private astronaut Richard Garriott and he has a very high opinion of SEDS members and says that students are doing the coolest things these days. He also firmly believes it will be a team of students that wins the Google Lunar X Prize.
Justin Graves (Finance):
In the last two weeks I have participated in a conference call to plan for the endowment fund and where we are headed with 501(c)3. I also got around to opening a new Bank of America account and deposited Elon's donation. Plans for the next two weeks include me making a presentation for the responsibilities of my job.
Rick Hanton (Expansion):
Communicated more with a student at Boise State who is looking to start a SEDS chapter about the first steps he should take. Updated the SEDS wiki setup to the newest version of Wordpress MU in preparation for further use (temporarily breaking the home page in the process). Also just set up BU SEDS with a wiki website to play around with at http://seds.org/bu/
