How to Use SEDS Blogs
From SEDSWiki
Getting started
To be an author on SEDS Blogs, you must register an account. (This can also be done by going to http://blogs.seds.org then Login > Register
- If you are already listed as an author on one of the existing blogs, you can access that blog by going to Main Menu where all of your blogs are listed.
- If you want to join an existing blog as an author, the administrator of that blog must give you an invitation.
- If you want to start a new blog, go to Main Menu > Create new weblog (direct link). Follow the instructions on that page to create a new blog.
Creating a new post
Go to the Main Menu, then go to the Settings for your blog (or go directly to New Entry). In the Settings, go to Create & Edit > New Entry in the menu bar at the top, as seen above. You will see the following screen where you can add a new post.
- Title: The title of your post
- Category: You can organize your posts in different categories. To edit categorie, go to Create & Edit > Categories.
- Summary: This section is optional. If you include text here, this text will appear on the front page of the blog, but the rest of the article in Content will be shown on another page. If you make a long post, using Summary is a good idea.
- Content: This is where you type your post.
When you are finished, you can:
- Post to Weblog: save your post and display it in your blog.
- Save as Draft: save your post without displaying it on your blog.
- Preview: see what your post will look like before posting it.
