January 25, 2006 Washington DC Planning Meeting
Participants: Shandy Asturias, Loretta Hidalgo, Will Pomerantz, Kevin Sloan, Barbara Thompson, George Whitesides
Kevin showed the new YN logo for the 25th anniversary of the space shuttle - super cool!
He also checked on making stickers too, he'll be checking with other places and will be getting samples to make sure the quality's all right. Maybe we get 1000, 200 for here, 800 for Jen?
$2K is set aside for promotional items.
Kevin emailed Karen about contactin a rep for Stoli for the party.
Loretta checked on getting limos from United Space Alliance to shuttle people from the NASM gala afterward. However, it turns out that NASA might not be having a gala that week, because congress isn't in session.
Loretta is looking into getting the webcast infrastructure, along with Crippen & Young. Barbara is going to send an email message to Patrick Buzzard from NASA HQ to help with the linkage.
Loretta will contact Richard Marble and eventually Yevgeny from last year's YN to see if we can get an ambassador to speak at YN or a cosmonaut. Shandy and Loretta will work on getting astronauts to speak - Shandy's contacting Norm Thagard, Loretta's contacting Bill Shepherd.
Chris Lewicki will be creating a YNDC email list for volunteers, etc.

To Do List:
- Shandy will contact Thagart, and recruit four new volunteers, and follow up with Daphne to see if she can find Bob Cowen.
- Barbara will contact Patrick Buzzard and Nicholas Pilugin
- Kevin will keep doing a bunch of cool stuff - finishing the new YN shuttle logo, some of the promo stuff, check on stickers, do that Kevin thang
