Project Description

The goal of the project is to break the altitude of >75-85,000 feet. This will be accomplished by a rocket launched off of a balloon based platform (Rockoon). The project spans the disciplines of physics and engineering, but also includes a wealth of opportunities in virtually every field. This project provides an excellent opportunity for students to not only use their learned skills, but branch out and extend knowledge into different and challenging disciplines. This is rocket science after all! Remember, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to be a rocket scientist! Above all the goal is to have fun, learn, and hopefully compete against other Rockoon teams from across the US.

Dates and Deadlines

The competition will take place August 2010 in Black Rock Desert of NM. Working back from that date and taking into account that you are all students, here are some useful dates/deadlines to know!

These deadlines leading up to August 2010 are intended to be used as mile markers of your progress. Being ahead of schedule is OK, but you are only as capable as your furthest behind system.
