First the Space Settlement thing. ashish4u_vit: soon the resolution problem will be rectified. tiny_mohanty: the first round of space settlement will take place in respective chapters and winners will compete in national level ashish4u_vit: k prad2609: Is there a proposal for the national level event? prad2609: we organise everything? That is, SEDS India organises everything? tiny_mohanty: it will be ready by this week with promotion materials prad2609: I'd really appreciate if you could talk to the chapters and involve them in the process as well. prad2609: We don't know in what state they're in. It's easy for us to make a decision. tiny_mohanty: ya we are gng to guve the idea of hw 2 conduct the event in the form of event catalog tiny_mohanty: then the chapter can gv necessary feedbacks prad2609: ok. Actually video thing need to be publicize more and people need time to complete it. prad2609: I will - once it is finalized within the committee. I don't want to go to YouTube with a non-event. We have to be solid enough to answer all their question. prad2609: They will have three months to do it in. Do you think they'll need more time than that? ashish4u_vit: Thats enough... prad2609: Once we announce, they can basically register themselves and begin preparation on the video. ashish4u_vit: exactly. tiny_mohanty: lets do this after the space settlement prad2609: We will ask them to upload it to YouTube directly in the Republic Day week ashish4u_vit: k. tiny_mohanty: lately this month wen one round of space settlement is over prad2609: This is going to be totally online. So I don't think it'll interfere with any other event. prad2609: Where is Space Settlement going to take place? This will go on till December 25. Is that after the Space Settlement comp? tiny_mohanty: the students in first round will submit their designs to the respective chapters n it will be reviewed there only.. prad2609: *we're planning tiny_mohanty: after that in 2nd round the winners from different chapters have to compete with their respective reports they hv to send it via mail to seds india tiny_mohanty: i think by oct 4 we will be done wid d first round prad2609: again, how will they submit their designs? I mean on what will they make their designs? prad2609: any CAD software etc.? tiny_mohanty: then wid a common venue the selected out of them cn again compete in national level tiny_mohanty: vry soon i wl send the event catalog wid all the details of the event prad2609: Google has a tool for it that it calls SketchUp (sketchup.google.com) ashish4u_vit: we can have an space related article submission competition in starting ashish4u_vit: wat do u think? ashish4u_vit: It's easy, less time taking, feasible. prad2609: Ok. on space settlement design - we'll wait for the catalog. Ashish, please write to us via email detailing all the aspects of your idea. Like the one I sent. tiny_mohanty: as of me no prob in hvng a event bt dere is prob reg the dir events matter ashish4u_vit: dir events means? prad2609: questions you have to answer - "how will you reward the contestants?" "what will qualify?" "What kind of articles?" etc prad2609: Yes, there is no one currently in the Dir, Events seat. As per the bye laws, the VP takes over all vacant chairs. prad2609: temporarily - until we can find a replacement. tiny_mohanty: contestents will be rewarded by seds india in the final level... we hv certificates n we hv 2 settle down on a prize money for that prad2609: Can you try and reach some architecture firm and ask them if they're willing to finance the money? tiny_mohanty: n 4 the first level in the chapters nly certi will be given by seds india its upto the chapters if they want dey cn hv the prize prad2609: yes, but there should be some incentive for the chapter to take it up, right? or for someone to participate? tiny_mohanty: we will povide all dat in the catalog ashish4u_vit: will there be any registration fee? prad2609: yes. please do. It's only right to discuss it after studying that. prad2609: Since Snehal is not here, let's move on to the topic of website/blog. You can now update, Ashish tiny_mohanty: k. prad2609: You can post the chapter updates from the DCA. Leave out the commentaries etc. ashish4u_vit: ya. Website resolution is being converted to 600*800. ashish4u_vit: Registration form, currently is being put in word format and it can be mailed to DCA. tiny_mohanty: we shud include dat asap in the website prad2609: ok. It'll be a good idea to mention the size of the file within brackets - eg. PDF (3.5 MB) tiny_mohanty: yup prad2609: It makes it useful to the person downloading the file ashish4u_vit: ya. later, A database kind of page can be put up and as you fill it up and click on submit button, it can be mailed to DCA mail. ashish4u_vit: Will be needing some help from SEDS server to transfer the file to mail that as the person click on submit. prad2609: like? prad2609: what help? tiny_mohanty: i think we cn set up our own server n connect it ashish4u_vit: like. when a person fill the form and click on submit, we will program it to mail to sedsindia@gmail.com ...
