Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
between Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS-USA) and the National Space Society (NSS).
This Memorandum of Agreement is made between the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS-USA) having its principal headquarters at W20-445, 84 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge MA 02139 and the National Space Society (NSS) having its principal headquarters at 922 Pennsylvania Ave., S.E., Washington, D.C. 20003.
WHEREAS SEDS-USA:
- Is a non-for-profit 501(c)-3 organization dedicated to promoting space and educating both students and the general public;
- Is an organization run by students principally for the benefit of students;
- Is a non-political organization; and,
- Is interested in establishing relationships and programs which help to increase its membership and promote its goals.
AND WHEREAS NSS:
- Is a non-for-profit 501(c)-3 organization dedicated to promoting space and educating its membership and the general public;
- Participates in various programs and projects including the International Space Development Conference and SpaceCause; and,
- Is interested in establishing relationships and programs which help to increase its membership and promote its goals.
THEN, THEREFORE, both organizations agree to establish a mutually beneficial relationship with the following objectives:
- NSS will provide SEDS-USA with a program track and student admission rate at the annual International Space Development Conference.
- NSS will provide gratis subscriptions of Ad Astra to officially registered SEDS-USA chapters. A list of these chapters will be provided by SEDS-USA to NSS semi-annually.
- NSS will establish a “SEDS-section” of Ad Astra which will be at least two pages, and will allow SEDS-USA to provide content for this section.
- SEDS-USA and NSS will from time to time cooperate on other joint projects of mutual interest which are non-political and promote the goals of both organizations.
This agreement does not indicate an intent to merge or represent a step towards merging SEDS-USA and NSS. The details of these efforts are to be established and maintained each year by the NSS Executive Director and the SEDS Chairman in office.
Either organization may sever this agreement by written agreement.
This agreement is understood and agreed to by both organizations as witnessed by the signatures below:
