SEDS-USA Director of Chapter Affairs Jan06 Update

Goals:
- continue progress with the policy proposal
- continue CoC meetings
Summary of progress:
- wrote initial proposal questions and sent out to various SEDS email lists, recieved 18 responses to date, held biweekly CoC meetings throughout winter break and into the beginning of the spring semester (see online minutes), met with new chapter representatives from St. Louis University and Illinois Institute of Technology to help them get started with their chapters (discussed project ideas, how to raise money, expectations of being a SEDS chapter)
Action Items Completed from Previous Month:
- CoC meetings

- Updated Council of Chpater's webpage to fit new meeting schedule and server
New Action Items Generated:
- Policy Proposal Draft done by end of February
- Short essay due for NOVA
- Attending March Storm
- continue CoC meetings and get a better attendence turn out
Miscellaneous Comments:
- Having a private meeting with the new SLU and IIT chapters really seemed to help them. Talking with an actual person regarding the formation of a chapter, getting the chapter off the ground, and clearing up confusion about the chapter starter kit gave the new representatives more confidence and some starter goals to work on. When a any new chapter joins, I want to set up a private meeting with them to help them with ideas for starting their chapter and updating them on what nationals is doing currently.
