SEDS-USA Vice Chair Jan06 Update

Goals:

  • Inform SEDS of space related conferences across the country, generate interest for these events, and coordinate collaboration of attendance for those who wish to go.
  • Also help with the fundraising committee in raising money for the SEDS Travel fund.

Summary of progress:

  • Sent email to chapters, announce, and exec about 13 total events across the country.
  • Posted the same information on seds.org news.
  • Have received responses from Caltech, UCF, and Illinois about various events.
  • Have added several contacts to the SEDS Travel Fund contact list.

Action Items Completed from Previous Month:

  • No items last month, but I have completed the above progress, as well as worked on early organization of SpaceVision 2006 conference at UCF.

New Action Items Generated:

  • Send out email again about events, including responses received. This will hopefully generate some more interest.
  • Follow up with those chapters and individuals who have responded to get a better idea of their plans, levels of funding, etc.
  • Find contacts at each event. This will give interested SEDS members a direct link to planning their trip.
