During the process of researching possible ADCS Systems and components however, several other interesting options have come to light. These involve systems to which special interest has been attributed, for reasons not directly related to the design process. These reasons include sponsorship, which has been offered in the form of free hardware, for the purposes of having it flight tested in the space environment, and the offer to one team member, to develop and test new controlling devices within a university project. One would think that such systems would be preferred over others as a result of both financial considerations and their greater significance from a research and development perspective. However, a requested guarantee of the components usage before even testing them, and repercussions on mission time-lines and launch dates due to additional time needed for the components development, have lead to a still ongoing discussion over which system to use.
