This is the montly update for the "Command and Data Handling" sub-system for October 2007.

Active members during October:

• Geoff Hilton

Detailed list of what has been achieved/completed

• Geoff and Nyeng has been reading up on AVR microcontrollers and have aquired devkits to get some hands-on experience.
• Per Magnus has been working on the CDH prototype.
• We've been promised sponsorship from the University of Aberystwyth. This will cover the costs of the prototype.
• We have been in contact with a company that can manufacture the PCB for CDH the prototype.
• We have been in contact with a company that can populate the PCB for the CDH prototype.

Goals planned to be achieved by next report

• We will have a complete prototype design by the end of November.
• We will have ordered the components needed for the prototype by the end of November.

Current total cost estimate

The component cost of the prototype will be around $450 USD. I'll post a full component list later. We have yet to recieve detailed prices for the manufacturing.
