Open Tasks
- Move "how to" info to Events Help and update link in Template:Events Header Month
- Include process for using Space Events Google Spreadsheet for add events.
- More portals to project page from individual region/month pages (else, how will visitors know how to help?)

HOWTO: Add Events
To make each event entry have a standard look, a template is used. The template used is Template:Events. A blank template looks like this:
{{Events
|who=
|what=
|when=
|where=
|web=
|info=
}}
To use the template in the directory, simply add information in the variables after the equal signs:
{{Events
|who=SEDS-USA
|what=SpaceVision2007
|when=9-12 November
|where=MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
|web=http://spacevision.seds.org
|info=annual national conference of SEDS-USA
}}
This will appear as:
9-12 November. SEDS-USA: SpaceVision2007Info: annual national conference of SEDS-USA
Via Google Spreadsheets
The following Google Spreadsheet will create the template code above based on inputs that you provide: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pbgOgHz1x_uHuGbWZc23TMg&hl=en. However, you need permissions to access it; send a message to Kirk or Pradeep for access.
The spreadsheet also formats the inputs for inclusion on the SEDS Forums Calendar and SEDSWiki Updates blog.
One other feature of the spreadsheet: it saves the information so that it could be used as a database later. My guess is that someone with MySQL experience could make a good system for adding/editing/posting events; I don't know how to do that, I just find the info.
List of Sources
For Reference Only
(It seems rude to just go to another compilation calendar and re-list the events they have gathered, i.e., to go to the SpaceRef calendar and copy all of the events to the wiki. I think there is more integrity in finding events from other sources -- especially the organizations that are hosting the events -- and listing them here. --Kirk (my page | talk page) 13:27, 9 April 2008 (MDT))
