Purpose of Banquet

  • Provide an event where students are able to interact with each other, and the speakers, in a social environment.
  • Highlight the history and future of SEDS as an organization.
  • Present awards and emphasize what the organization has done over the year.

Arrangements

  • Using banquet halls on campus may require you to use campus-provided food
  • However, selection of high-quality food with a local flavor can be very good
  • The place settings and food can be arranged separately... many catering companies actually rent their plates/silverware/etc. from other companies.

Warnings

  • This event is a key part of the conference, and critical to the reputation of the organization
  • Make sure that the dinner is worth what people pay
