Starting a New Chapter

Step #1: Find an existing chapter in your area
Check if there is an existing SEDS chapter in your area? If there is, contact him to learn more about how you can join SEDS.
Step #2: If there is no existing chapter in your area
If there is no chapter in your area, and you are from the USA or UK, then send an email to the respective email addresses:
- USA: email expansion@seds.organd see SEDS-USA Chapter Starter Kit for help.
- UK: see registration details
Else send an email to international@seds.org stating that you want to join SEDS and include the following:
- Your name and email address
- Your university or school
- Information about your organization
- Why you want to join
- Any other information you want to share or requests you have for SEDS
This email will be kept as an official record of membership.
Step #3: Confirmation
After you receive a confirmation note from one of the officers of SEDS, you are now officially a member of SEDS!!

There are three useful email lists to help you get started:
- SEDS-Earth email list. Leaders from worldwide SEDS organizations are members of the list, so it is a good place to ask questions. SEDS-Earth is the international chapter of SEDS, dedicated to linking the various groups around the world.
- SEDS-Announce email list. General information and announcements from SEDS.
- SEDS-Discuss email list. Talk about anything.
If you join there are many tools that SEDS can offer for free. Go to information about the SEDS Server to see if any of the tools there -- email lists, web space, etc. -- would be useful to your group.
