Rough notes.

All teams: systems template, wiki

Structures:

  • Sasi, Parshati, Mansee
  • finalized that we ll be using componenets instead of using a kit on various points
  • finished subsystem study, now evaluating components to be used
  • aluminium6061 , al beams, trays for individual subsystem during assembly, rbf pin,
  • another one is alu7075 but it will increase our satellite wt
  • TASK: Structures to do thermal modelling
  • compilation of info and finalizing the data comes i guess we can do it by march 1st

Power:

  • we are in the mid phase of our conceptual design
  • some components are ordered
  • we still lag behind in solar panels area

  • gortipavan (1:05:26 PM): we approached our university for funding
  • gortipavan (1:05:32 PM): we are awaiting their reply

tom.nordheim (1:05:34 PM): ok I see, who did you get samples from?

  • gortipavan (1:05:50 PM): Texas instruments
  • gortipavan (1:06:06 PM): we are also planning to make a presentation to ISRO to get funding
  • goldenleo9 (1:06:07 PM): what components are these, precisely?
  • gortipavan (1:06:36 PM): the components are fuel gauges, ADC s, load protection ICs
  • gortipavan (1:06:49 PM): we have also ordered some through MAXIm
  • http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb307/QuantumP7/power.jpg
  • gortipavan (1:35:06 PM): total time ?

gortipavan (1:35:42 PM): and i need the precise time for these events

  • tom.nordheim (1:45:12 PM): so you are contacting isro for funding
  • tom.nordheim (1:47:12 PM): what kind of panels did you decide on?

gortipavan (1:47:28 PM): triple jn. cells....preferably from EMCORE gortipavan (1:47:35 PM): space grade

CDH:

  • the current document can be found at http://www.veierland.net/cdh.pdf
  • at the moment we are working on finalizing all input/outputs
  • skuggfax87 (2:28:49 PM): but to add up on redundancy we are implementing a dual-MCU design with a master/slave controller
  • skuggfax87 (2:30:43 PM): I forgot to mention that we have backing from the Aberystwyth University to build the CDH prototype

skuggfax87 (2:31:05 PM): And it probably is one of the cheapest subsystems anyway tom.nordheim (2:31:20 PM): yes finance should not be a major issue(yes?) skuggfax87 (2:31:29 PM): no, not at all

  • skuggfax87 (2:32:08 PM): I've scheduled the prototype for february 2008
  • skuggfax87 (2:34:44 PM): we are also looking at implementing an aluminium shield around or components

tom.nordheim (2:35:14 PM): that is very sensible , definitely for the main mcus skuggfax87 (2:35:32 PM): I'll refer to the paper I got this from, but a 100 mil layer of aluminium is enough to properly shield components tom.nordheim (2:35:49 PM): will you encase the whole cdh module in alu? 5x5x5 cm --Lavina 03:31, 27 December 2007 (MST)

  • tom.nordheim (5:12:14 PM): do you have any expensive components in your subsystem=

tom.nordheim (5:12:21 PM): the magnetometers? sigvesh (5:12:49 PM): no sigvesh (5:12:57 PM): all cheep ones

Communications:

  • steve_m46 (7:30:34 PM): the vast majority of comms power is taken during transmit

steve_m46 (7:30:40 PM): maybe a watt or so steve_m46 (7:30:47 PM): the rest is relatively neglible around 100mW steve_m46 (7:31:39 PM): receive would always be powered

  • steve_m46 (7:39:58 PM): we've identified a number of transceivers, some of these have been used by various other cubesats

steve_m46 (7:40:11 PM): we've got a first link budget draft

  • steve_m46 (7:43:54 PM): just build an initial revision, sometime around June 2008
  • financial, phils
