Action Items

Karen: create a postcard sized generic YN promo card that we can print up and longer range a new brochure!

• working on YN promo rave card: Goal is to have at printer by mid- January.
• Jen said that she knows a place that can do 5000 4x6 cards in Oakland for $200. Who will look into it?
• Karen will investigate digital printers that allow you to customize by changing the content based on a Database (used for direct mail printing)

Loretta: send out list of executive positions

• Applications for executive positions was sent out on Novmber 21. Some filled, some are still open
  • Jen Eckardt will be the Associate Director of YN 2006
  • Karen Lau will be the Art Director
  • Sarah Musi will be the Artists Liaison
  • Tim Bailey will be the Director of Space Community Relations
  • Jeremy Pyle will be the Director of Media Relations
  • Michael Laine will be working on the Finance Team- helping keep our books up to date.
  • Amrut Yalagi will be joining the Web Team to help build us a flash header for the current site
  • Anbarasan will be the Executive Secretary
  • And Ganapathy will be helping with Corporate Sponsorship

Tim: write up declaration for April 12 holiday to honor early space explorers available here: Space Pioneer Day

• declaration for Space Pioneer Day written and distributed for comment
• revised and sent out to co-workers for evaluation and recommendations for political movement
  • easy to make a one-day commemorative event, much harder to get legislative approval for new holiday

Sponsors

Loretta: contact USA, Aeroflot, Air and Space, Russian Embassy and XM to schedule meetings

• contacted USA, they said "Sounds great...we should get Crippen and Young involved...maybe some online interactive sessions and local appearance. Count us in."
• will call Aeroflot to schedule a meeting next week
• emailed Air and Space- They are up for a meeting in early Jan- will follow up
• meeting with XM postponed to 3rd week in Jan

Loretta: contact Jack about contacting Big Head Todd

• Contacted Big Head Todd's management and they are excited!
• YN world headquarters received 240 CDs of Big Head Todd's Shuttle Return to Flight Tribute Song- "Blue Sky" from their record label
• Spoke to agent and learned how much money we need to raise to bring them in

Jennie: help input new parties, Look into what collateral space materials Plantronics has that we could use and what product they could donate

• Plantronics has some items they are willing to donate including posters and one really nice headset.

Loretta: Talk to Stephen Steiner about YN logo aerogels.

• He is working it- but can't promise anything- not likely to be ready in time...

Vanna: Talk to Rocket Dog shoes, Verizon and XBox about sponsoring or donating products

• Wants to plan approach to 3 bay area companies- Google is one of them
  • Karen: tie in Google Earth, will look into how feasible- mapping our party sites to Google earth is

Barbara: International Heliophysical Year (IHY Home Page) has Yuri's Night as an "official" event. We don't have much money, but we will be urging all of the member states of this organization to find party hosts! Feel free to use the name or affiliation if it is useful in planning Yuri's Night activities.

Parties

Loretta: hand over all event information to Party Liaison to stay in communication with parties.

Barbara: solicit good ideas from the previous parties (write up an email and I can forward it till I add you to the mailserve)

Loretta: get party pack uploaded to the website by Dec 1 DONE

Jeremy and George: Work together to get all information out to NSS Chapters ASAP

Website Items

1. Make "What's New" a link in the Nav bar - when you click it it takes you to the list of news
2. Move all the video content (below the party map) to secondary page- (under resources add a link +videos) DONE
3. Show a list of sponsors and place logos/icons listed in a downward direction. (put USA first, then Boeing, the NG, XM, NSS, and X PRIZE-they should all be Boeing sized- or smaller if that is too big) DONE
4. Add a +sponsors to the main left Nav as well specifically below the +history link. DONE
5. Under the +sponsors left nav have +our sponsors and +become a sponsor
6. When you click +sponsor- you should be taken to the become a sponsor page with the list of sponsors with a title at the top (that is a hyperlink) that says "Want to join this list?" option of clicking the other sub menu to see how more about becoming a sponsor (which you can get from the sponsor pack (I will send it out to be reworked in parallel). DONE

Kirk: upload the minor website fixes- major changes awaiting finding a expert webmaster. DONE

Jennie: work on having a web guy at work design a cool win a trip to space link for us to put on our site.

Jeremy: help with Copy editing

Karen: increase web ranking (more links to us)

Webcast Team Needed

We have identified that to have a great webcast we want to have a full team dedicated to creating and causing it. We need your help to identify people who would be willing to take this on and be the people accountable for ensuring that YN 2006 had a fantastic Webcast!

Webcast team will tag up once a week for webcast production calls (to be scheduled by the team), work actions during the week and be on the executive call Wednesday evenings. If you are interested please contact loretta@yurisnight.net (626) 429-6603

• "Webcast Manager:" will work with all technical aspects of managing a webcast, interface with webcast sponsors and partners and support the web cast team.

• "Celebrity Liaison:" will interface with all the people we want to invite to contribute content to the YN webcast and arrange for all of their tapings and the integration of their contributions into the final product and the thanking of them for their support.

• "Webcast Technical Support:" Supports parties with questions regarding webcasting and webcast viewing and acts as a conduit of information and excitement to the parties regarding what is being planned for the webcast.
